I have been so excited to share my Postpartum Journey with you all! Now don't get me wrong, I personally, still have some ways to go, but being close to seven months out, I wanted to post what I did to kick start this journey! Also you should know I was pregnant back to back! My oldest just turned 6 months when we found out we were expecting again. My body has personally been through a lot! Please be kind as I share photos leading up to now!

Very vulnerable moment for me sharing those pictures! But I find them super encouraging to look back on while being inspired to get back to the "old me". I say the old me, but what I really mean is a new normal! I am super ok with a new normal as long as I have a healthy mind set and regime to get me there! 

So I wanted to share with you what I have done so far along the way! Nothing crazy here which is perfect for myself, being a mama of two under two I wanted to make sure I really gave my body time to heal! SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!

Number One Exercise

Pelvic Floor Exercises! I CAN'T tell you enough how important it is to really go back to the basics with your lower body! It just went through the most trauma over the past nine months! The day I got home from the hospital I immediately started these exercises! (Please Check with you Doctor before starting!)  


I loved the simplicity of these exercises! Easy to do 3x a day, which is what I did! Not even going for a ripped stomach but my posture alone made me feel amazing! Along with walking! I walked at least 3-4x a week!

Number Two Body Support

I snagged the Mother Tucker leggings from BellyBandit! Oh man I am so happy I had these with #2! The Mother Tucker leggings are compression leggings the really aid postpartum care! I wore these around the house and to bed for 2 months straight! They are so comfortable, after giving birth, because I don't know about you, but I felt super wobbly! Wearing these leggings really aloud me to walk without over compensating and supported my lower back! I also combating these with a postpartum girdle, can I get an amen!!! It's really important to stick to wearing it no matter how uncomfortable you get. Trust me mama I understand how uncomfortable it can get... but keep in mind how healing it is for your body! Click on the links to shop what I wore.

Number Three Diet

Uh the four letter word that we all hate to participate in, so mama's lets make it easy! Eat CLEAN! Yes I am telling you it is so good for you to cleanse your body after giving birth and bump up that milk supply! I cut dairy out of my diet and went Vegan! Yes and it was extremely helpful! Within weeks I didn't even feel like I gave birth!!! My body had energy and was ready to take on the world with my babies!!! You can do it mama friends!! Push through! Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water!

Number Four Breastfeeding

Now I know this is a sensitive option, since some mama's milk never come in or by personal choice don't breastfeed. Whatever it may be you are a GREAT mom! For those of you that are breastfeeding!! Breastfeeding alone can burn up to 300-500 calories a day! Don't get me wrong it is hard work! But if you can put the work in, do it to it!! 

I am no way a doctor or fitness guru, I am just a mama who used these steps to jump start my postpartum journey to be healthy and strong! Now mind you I also chased around a toddler as well and my husband was gone due to military orders so life was crazy! Almost 7 months out and I still desire to tone my body and skin! All in good time mama's, remember give yourself grace! Your body took 9 months to gain the weight and change... give yourself the same amount of time to heal. 

So here is what I look like now


I have fitness goals that I am still striving for and can not wait to accomplish, I weighed 183lbs going into labor and I now weigh 153lbs. My personal goal is to lose 13lbs and be back at my pre-pregnancy weight before ever getting pregnant!  I love my body and everything it has accomplished! Excited to jump back on here in 6 months for a total of 12 months recovery! Good luck mama's... you are all beautiful and strong and can/will do amazing things!
